Meditation Music to Relax and Take the Stress Out
from:Meditation is a form of relaxation where one sits (or stands and sits) quietly with their thoughts focused on one object or thought. It has been used for thousands of years as a means of relaxation and gaining inner peace and tranquility. What started as a religious ritual for Buddhist and other religions has turned into an everyday part of many people's lives. Meditation has been used and recommended for many physical ailments that are stress-related. Many meditation techniques are used today and each individual usually chooses the one that is most effective for them. Meditation music is used a lot with meditation. Meditation music listened to during meditation or played with meditation.
Many people enjoy different type of music, some being classical, jazz or rock, while others may enjoy country or pop. While any type of music will work if you're just in the mood for music, but for meditation music should be soothing and simple. You do not want loud upbeat music as something to use for meditation. The main purpose or goal of meditation is to completely relax by finding some thing to focus on for the entire meditation period, whether it's twenty minutes or two hours. It is not possible to totally focus on one thing with loud and distracting music playing in the background. Meditation music is supposed to enhance meditation, not distract you from it.
Different musical instruments have been played with meditation by more advanced meditations. Some of these instruments like the flute, Tibetan singing bow, tambour and the sitar are said to be very inductive to meditation. Some musicians can play different scores of music while they meditate. Sounds True, Sanata Society and Inner Splendor Media are just a few organizations that have produced meditation music. Some artists such as Oliver Messiaen (Quartet for the end of time), Ben Johnston (Visions and Spells) and Karlheinz Stockhausen (Mantra) are all musicians and artists that have combined music and meditation by writing meditation music. Some is designed to be played during meditation while others should be performed after the meditation period.
One important factor to meditation is to pick a technique of meditation that works well for you and make time for it in your life. It works most successfully when it is used on a regular basis. The same is true for your meditation music. Choose one piece that you feel may work with your meditation. If it doesn't work, try another. Meditation may not work as you hope after just one session. It may take a few sessions for you to learn to correctly focus on meditation, specifically if you try this on your own.
